Rameswaram: PM Modi will be inaugurating the grand memorial of late President APJ Abdul Kalam on Tuesday along with 50 million students singing ‘Kalam Anthem’ while he cuts ribbons, marking the second anniversary of the Patriot’s demise.
‘Sandesh Vahini Vision-2020’ rath is set to start from the memorial Rameswaram and arrive at Rashtrapati Bhavan on 15 October, marking the 86th birth anniversary of the patriot which shall carry pictures, videos and speeches elucidating his Vision-2020 across 17 states. The flag will also be hosted along with the ribbon cutting by the PM.
The ‘Kalam Salam’ Anthem is written by famous lyricist Vairamuthu. Ghibran composed the music of the anthem while Sid Sriram sang it. The video was directed by Vasanth Sai and released in Tamil by renowned agriculture scientist Dr M.S.Swaminathan in Chennai. S.P.Balasubramaniam sang the Telugu version while the Hindi version was sung by Prasoon Joshi.
“Kalam sir had met five crore students during his several trips crisscrossing the country and they will all sing this special anthem at the same time when our PM cuts the ribbon to inaugurate the memorial at Rameswaram. While the students in Tamil Nadu will sing the Tamil anthem, those in Andhra and Telengana will sing the Telugu version and those in the rest of India will sing the Hindi anthem. Soon we will have the anthem in all the other languages”, said Abdul Ghani of the ‘Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam International Foundation’.
The anthem would be performed between 11.00 and 11.03 hours on Thursday added the Abdul Ghani.
Family, friends, admirers of late president arrived at House of Kalam for performing special prayers on Tuesday. Elder brother of late President Mohammed Muth u Lebbai Maraikayar led the special prayers.
