Twenty-five officer trainees of the 2013 batch of the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi here on Thursday.
Interacting with the probationers, the Prime Minister exhorted them to learn as much as possible about India, so that they can highlight the strengths of the country, in the right context, in the place of their postings.
Prime Minister Modi urged them to become especially well-versed in matters related to the economy and energy security, while also developing a good knowledge of history and culture.
He said officers should make every effort to ensure that diaspora, which represents a great strength for India and across the world, had a pleasant experience in their interactions with Indian Missions abroad.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister Nripendra Misra, Additional Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister P.K. Mishra, and Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar were amongst others present during the interaction. (ANI)
