Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday termed the upcoming legislative assembly polls in Maharashtra as the beginning of the purification of the state, adding that the economic development of Maharashtra has an impact on the entire nation.
“The upcoming polls will not merely decide who comes to power in the state. These polls are the beginning of purification of politics of Maharashtra. “When Mumbai and Maharashtra develops economically it has an impact on the economy of the nation. When Mumbai and Maharashtra progress, the entire nation moves ahead,” Prime Minister Modi said, while addressing a rally here.
He also urged the electorate to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the development of the state.
“The people of Thane have got the opportunity to vote for BJP after 25 years and I am sure they won’t miss the opportunity. Further, the Congress-NCP alliance has ruled the state for 15 years and ruined it, now there is a chance to change things,” Prime Minister Modi said.
The election for 288 member Maharashtra state assembly is scheduled to be held on October 15, with the counting of the votes scheduled for October 19. (ANI)
