PM Modi signs his portrait auctioned for ‘Clean Ganga’ mission

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday signed his portrait painted by an artist from Surat which was auctioned to raise funds for the ‘Clean Ganga’ mission by Indian residents in Hong Kong.

“I could not take this painting with me even after it had been auctioned. Now that it has been autographed, I will first take it and show it to the kids, organize a family dinner maybe,” said Darshan Bhagat, who bought it for HKD 2.5 lakh.

Prime Minister Modi, who concluded his three-day visit to China earlier today, made a strong pitch for the ‘Make in India’ initiative.

Speaking at the inaugural session of the India China Business forum, Prime Minister Modi said the government has taken several initiatives to promote ease of business.

During his visit, China and India signed 26 business deals worth more than USD 22 billion in areas including renewable energy, ports, financing and industrial parks. (ANI)
