Jaipur: Yoga guru Ramdev on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should muster courage and ban cow slaughter across India to end bloodshed between Hindus and Muslims on the issue forever.
“Pakistanis living along the Punjab border are rearing lakhs of cows, and their economy depends on cow rearing. Till the 18th Century, there was no cow slaughter in India. Even there was a ban on cow slaughter even during the reign of Aurangzeb, who was considered as the cruellest ruler by the British Rulers in India,” said Ramdev.
“When a man is killed, it is called murder and violence, but when a cow is slaughtered, it is humans’ right. Things are being portrayed in a wrong manner. If humans have rights, animals too have rights,” he added.
He, however, refused to answer when asked for his comments on the NDA Government’s failure to bring black money back to India.
