Is PM Modi ready to talk to Pakistan even after betrayals, asks Khurshid

Congress Party on Saturday asked Prime Minister Modi whether he was contemplating having continuous dialogue with Pakistan despite its repeated betrayals?

“There have been a series of betrayals by Pakistan. So, what does Prime Minister Modi want to convey? That despite all the betrayals, he is ready for talks?,” asked former foreign minister Salman Khurshid.

“We were told that bilateral talks will be going on between both nations and that the NSAs (National Security Advisers) of both countries are also going to talk,” added Khurshid.

Khurshid further stated, “If I had the opportunity to meet Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, I would have said to him that our Prime Minister doesn’t talk to us, he neither talks to nation, nor in the Parliament, how can you expect him to talk on International affairs?”.

Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad also criticised Prime Minister Modi for not talking on foreign affairs.

Azad told ANI, “I have been going to the Red Fort for 35 years, this is the first time that a Prime Minister has not said a word on foreign policy.” (ANI)
