PM Modi pays homage to Ambedkar at his birthplace in Mhow

Mhow (Madhya Pradesh) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tribute to father of India’s Constitution and nation’s first Law and Justice Minister Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar at the late leader’s birthplace in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also accompanied the Prime Minister to Dr. Ambedkar’s memorial, where Modi garlanded his bust and sought his blessings with folded hands.

Prime Minister Modi had, earlier in his tweets, said that the architect of the Indian Constitution was a ‘ Vishwa Manav’, who devoted his life in service of the poor and the marginalised.

A function was held in the lawns of the Parliament house complex today where political leaders and people from different walks of life paid floral tributes to the statue of Dr. Ambedkar.

Meanwhile, the United Nations also celebrated Dr B. R. Ambedkar’s 125th birth anniversary ‘Ambedkar Jayanti’ at the UN headquarters in New York.

On this day, the international organisation aims to focus on combating inequalities to achieve Sustainable Development Goals and vouch his vision to create a nation on the firm grounds of democracy and social justice and equality for all. (ANI)
