Araria, Nov. 2 : Launching a frontal attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his baseless criticism of the former UPA regime, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that the grand old party contributed immensely in the country’s development in the last 60 years and wondered as to why the former had failed to keep up his promises made to the nation in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
“When two people fight, there is always one person who realises that he is going to lose so he abuses and runs. That is what the Prime Minister does. When he realises his ploys are failing, he comes out abusing us since he can’t do anything else. He says the Congress did not do anything in 60 years. The highways here were built by us, so is all major infrastructure in the nation,” Rahul said while addressing a rally here.
“He could just talk about ‘acche din’ a year ago, why is he not talking about it anymore? He promised the women of Bihar that he will bring down prices. Instead the price of pulses has shot up to 200 rupees per kg from 70 rupees per kg,” he added.
Raking up Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs General (Retd.) V.K. Singh’s “dog remark” over the burning of two Dalit kids in Ballabhgarh, Rahul said if any Congress minister had made such a statement then he would be dismissed with immediate effect. (ANI)
