Patna, Aug 9 : Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving specific names to the political parties in Bihar, saying the latter has lost his mind with the election dates coming closer.
Lalu alleged that the nation does not take him seriously as he has lowered the Prime Minister’s dignity.
“I would like to ask Narendra Modi, have you ever come to Gaya to give ‘pind daan’ to your ancestors? At least you could have done the ritual so that Biharis would think that culture matters to you,” he added.
The RJD chief supremo, who has joined hands with his adversary and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for the Bihar polls, used the occasion to corner the Prime Minister on the ‘acche din’ promises made by him in the run up to the 2014 Lok Sabha polls.
“I have heard about his speech. These days he has started giving names to the parties, whether RJD or JD (U). Bihar’s public, nation’s public expects you to abide by your promises about ‘acche din’ instead you are diverting from it and making atrocious speeches. We want to know what happened to the black money,” Lalu said.
“The country’s Prime Minister slamming Bihar, Biharis and Bihar’s Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in Muzzafarpur about their DNAs and blood, reflects that he is lowering the dignity of the Prime Minister’s Office. How can we sit and listen to this?” he asked.
Lalu also expressed his anger against Prime Minister Modi’s ‘jungle raj’ comment and alleged that he was insulting the people of Bihar.
“You are saying ‘jungle raj’ because we gave voice to the poor people. I know Narendra Modi ji you are doing this to make whom happy, which section of the society happy. On one hand, you are insulting Bihar’s public and on the other hand you are saying ‘jungle raj’ then you are giving names to RJD and JD (U). Have you forgotten the BJP stands for Bharatiya Jalaau (Annoying) Party?” he said.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Modi dubbed the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar as an event to free the state from ‘jungle-raj’ and an arrogant government.
He also said that JD (U) stands for ‘Janata ka daman (suppression) aur utpeedan (exploitation),’ while RJD stands for ‘Rozana Jungle Raj ka Darr (fear).’ (ANI)
