Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia on Sunday accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA Government of trying to cut down on the rights of the Delhi Government.
“BJP had said they would give full statehood to Delhi, but now they are busy cutting-down on the rights of Delhi Government. Today, Arun Jaitley ji is saying that it needs national consensus. I think the central government is implementing things on their own but this is the assembly of people and there is nothing powerful than that. We will discuss it in the assembly and see what comes out,” said Sisodia.
Earlier on Saturday, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had said that full statehood rights cannot be given to the Delhi government unless there is a general consensus in the country on the issue as it is the national capital. (ANI)
