Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated the Gujarat government for its initiatives as part of Good Governance Day, including the schemes launched for the unorganised sector workers.
Prime Minister Modi was congratulating the launch of welfare schemes, which draw inspiration from the ‘Shramev Jayate’ vision of the Centre, which emphasises on labour reforms. Among the initiatives is the Unorganized Sector Identification Number ‘U-WIN’ scheme, which will enable workers of this category to avail benefits of several government schemes.
Addressing unorganised sector workers in Gujarat via video conference, the Prime Minister praised the unorganized sector workers of the state, and said that the state had zero man-days loss, stating that all stakeholders have followed the ‘Gandhian spirit of working’.
Prime Minister Modi also identified this trait as behind the cause of Gujarat receiving large amounts of foreign investment. (ANI)
