PM Modi building India, Mahagathbandhan breaking India: Amit Shah

Politics: Launching a scathing attack at the Opposition, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah on Sunday claimed that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is building ‘Make in India’, the ‘Mahatgathbandhan’ or grand alliance of opposition parties is busy breaking the country.

“There are two ideologies present in the country at this moment. On one hand, you have the BJP which is working so hard to build India and take it forward through its schemes and policies, and on the other hand, you have the Mahagathbandhan, which doesn’t even have a leader, and is busy breaking the country,” Shah said while addressing the Vijay Lakshya 2019 organised by the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYP) in Hyderabad.

Citing the opposing ideologies, Shah appealed to the gathering to vote for the BJP in the upcoming general elections. “Time has come to confront these forces. Only you can make the difference,” he added.

The BJP Chief further claimed that the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti (TRS) government led by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao refrained from celebrating Hyderabad Liberation Day fearing All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

“It is quite unfortunate to see that the KCR government has decided not to observe the Hyderabad Liberation Day. Can you people forget the atrocities committed by the Rajakars during the Nizam’s rule? Thousands of people laid down their lives to free Hyderabad from the Nizam’s rule. The state government has stopped the tradition of celebrating the liberation day just because of fear of Asaduddin Owaisi. The government must change in Telangana. I urge you all to vote carefully as the elections in the state are approaching fast,” he said.

Shah also claimed that Congress president Rahul Gandhi is not fit to question the Modi government on what has achieved over the last four and a half years.

“Rahul Gandhi keeps repeating the same thing every single day. Let me clarify once that you are not at all fit to ask such questions. The BJP has achieved more in the last four and half years than what the four generation of Congress rulers failed to do,” Shah asserted.

The Telangana Legislative Assembly Elections is scheduled to be held on December 7, 2018, to elect members from 119 constituencies.
