New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned home on Tuesday morning after completing his successful visit to the UAE during which both sides came down heavily on countries sponsoring terrorism against other states.
The two sides decided to elevate India-UAE relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership and chart out a new course for cooperation in key areas like trade and investment, defence, security, maritime security and intelligence sharing.
On the concluding day of his two-day visit to the UAE, Prime Minister Modi held extensive talks with the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Dubai.
Prime Minister Modi also addressed the Indian diaspora at Dubai Cricket Stadium where he spoke on various issues, including terrorism.
The Prime Minister visited the UAE after 34 years. The last Indian Prime Minister to visit the UAE was Indira Gandhi in 1981.
