Prime Minister Narendra Modi who arrived in Fiji earlier this morning, appreciated the scenic beauty of the island nation and its people.
Taking to social networking site twitter, Prime Minister Modi shared his thoughts, and posted a picture on Istagram, showing the panoramic beauty of the Pacific Ocean nation’s sea shores.
“Bula from Fiji! On the shores of the Pacific Ocean, among wonderful people,” he tweeted.
Earlier, on his arrival here at the Nausori International Airport in Fiji, Prime Minister Modi was received by Fijian Prime Minister Frank Bainimarama.
Prime Minister Modi will be holding bilateral talks with his Fijian counterpart during his day-long visit. He is also scheduled to address the island nation’s Parliament .
Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian prime minister to visit Fiji in 33 years since late prime minister Indira Gandhi’s visit to the country in 1981. He will be accorded a traditional welcome in a ceremony at Albert Park in Suva today.
