PM Modi and Rahul attended Parliament event after polls, no words exchanged

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi were at a close distance from each other at a function in Parliament but did not speak.

The Congress won the elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh which were all ruled by the BJP.

Two days after the Congress won the three states from the BJP, the two leaders were in Parliament for a tribute organised for the martyrs of the 2001 Parliament attack.

Sonia Gandhi, Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan, BJP veteran L K Advani and UPA chairperson were also present at the event.

On December 13, 2001, five Delhi police personnel, a woman constable of the Central Reserve Police Force, two members of the Parliament Watch and Ward Staff, a gardener and a cameraman lost their lives in the attack as five heavily armed gunmen stormed the Parliament complex and opened fire.
