Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had assured that he would consider various demands of the state favourably. Talking to newsmen here, he said a delegation led by him held discussions with the Prime Minister last night and submitted a memorandum seeking immediate intervention to the state’s demands. Mr Chandy said the Prime Minister had assured the delegation that except three, all other demands in a 16-point charter would be considered favorably. Regarding the issue of National Highway bypass in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollamm, Alappuzha, Kozhikode, Thalasserry, Mahe and Kannur, the government sought Prime Ministers intervention. However, the Prime Minister told the delegation that he would discuss the matter with the National Highway Authority, as the issue was not related with the state only. Mr Chandy said on the dream project of Air Kerala, he said the Prime Minister would look into the matter with due importance.
