PM ignores TS plea on SC row, to build pressure on Centre after Jan. 5

Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari today lashed out at the Centre and Telugu Desam Government in Andhra Pradesh for failing to react on the pending issue of SC categorization.

Addressing the media at the Secretariat here, Srihari accused the BJP Government at the Centre of neglecting the plight of the SCs in whose favour the Sate government passed a bill in the Assembly session. “We will take up a fight against the Centre if Prime Minister’s Office failed to respond for an all-party meet by January 5 and come out with an action plan”, he warned. “The BJP-led NDA government at the Centre and its ally TDP are least bothered about the long-pending issue, he charged.

The Deputy Chief Minister alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not respond to repeated pleas of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. Citing Gujarat elections and other issues, the PMO dragged the issue so far only to the chagrin of the Madiga community in the State, he alleged. “Though I asked to impress upon Modi during GES event in Hyderabad, the BJP leaders K Lakshman and G. Kishan Reddy failed to react, he charged. He said MRPS founder-president Manda Krishna Madiga, who was protesting in the State should do so at Delhi to exert pressure on the Centre as Parliament session was going on.

The TRS Government is in favour of the SC classification and even M Venkaiah Naidu as Union minister supported it, he said. Srihari also took serious exception to the Prime Minister for not responding on all-party meet. Srihari fumed at the MRPS chief Manda Krishna Madiga for befriending the BJP leaders and targeting the TRS Government on the issue. “Since the ball is in the Centre’s court, we have to fight with it for a logical end”. He also found fault with Manda Krishna for protesting in nights during World Telugu Conference. There was no use of making baseless charges against the State government, Srihari added.
