PM holds NSC meeting, takes stock of earthquake situation

New Delhi: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Monday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC) to discuss issues concerning the earthquake in northeast India among others.
Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Minister of State (MoS) for Home Kiren Rijiju, who happened to be in northeast, had been told to take stock of the situation there, Jaitley told ANI.

MoS (Independent Charge) for the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, and MoS for the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh met earthquake victims at a hospital in Imphal, while Rijiju conducted an aerial survey of the affected areas.

Later, both Jitendra Singh and Kiren Rijiju meet Manipur Chief Mninster Okram Ibobi Singh.
