New Delhi, May 07: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has congratulated Navinchandra Ramgoolam, Prime Minister of Mauritius, for the victory of his Labour Party-led alliance in the elections and said the relations between the two countries have stood the test of time.
“Relations between India and Mauritius are unique, historical and have stood the test of time. Our cooperation is multifaceted and comprehensive,” he said in a letter to Ramgoolam.
Singh said he looked forward to working closely with him to further strengthen, diversify and enrich the mutually beneficial relationship in the coming years.
The Prime Minister also extended an invitation to Ramgoolam to visit India on mutually convenient dates, which could be worked out through diplomatic channels.
Ramgoolam’s coalition won Wednesday’s elections by a large margin.
