PM to campaign for Congress in Dibrugarh today

Ahead of 2014 General Elections, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will on Saturday visit Assam to support the Congress candidate in Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency.

Though 80-year-old Singh has officially declared that he would not seek a third term, yet he will be campaigning for the party in Assam from where he has been a Rajya Sabha member.

On March 27, Rahul Gandhi had addressed public rallies in Kohima, Tezpur and Dibrugarh in the state where he was felicitated by Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi.

Assam has 14 Lok Sabha constituencies. The state will go to polls on April 7, 12, 24.
