PM calls for affordable and speedy justice for common man

New Delhi, March 27: The Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has called for affordable and speedy justice for the common man.

Dr. Singh said judiciary is the solid pillar of the democracy, he said while addressing the National convention of Law, Justice and the Common Man in New Delhi on Saturday.

Prime Minister said we have to be sensitive to the poor and marginalised sections of the society.

Dr. Singh said his government would not hesitate in going an extra mile for judicial reforms.

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi has said that the legislative agenda of any Government should take care of the legitimate aspirations of the common man.

Addressing the National convention of Law, Justice and the Common Men she said in its first term the UPA passed historic legislations like NREGA, Domestic violence bill, protection of child rights act and bill for Unorganised sector.

She said UPA-2 ensured the passage of Women reservation bill in the Rajya Sabha.

Sonia Gandhi said these legislative reforms have put pressure on executive to be more transparent and efficient.
