New Delhi: The Congress Party on Monday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of brainstorming on negative aspects of issues on his government and making late remarks on brutal attacks on Dalits under the garb of cow protection.
Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge told ANI, “Making late remarks now on the Dalit issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi want to create an emotional environment, if he would have remarked immediately and sent a strong message against such people then the problem would not have taken this pace. He should have sent a warning over the action that will be taken following such issues and such action should have been seen practically.”
Kharge added, “Maybe he thought about how all these incidents are giving a bad name to his Government, so spoke on this.”
He said “We are going to raise this issue today because mere saying does not work much. If an outsider says these words then it means something else but being in power saying is not appropriate because a Prime Minister has all control over security forces and Police. Moreover, such incidents are taking place in states where there is BJP rule, so shedding few tears and asking people to shoot him won’t provide a solution to the problem. Those people who are creating problems and disturbing the administration and destroying everything should be asked to be shot down.”
In an unusual expression of solidarity with the Dalit community that faced the wrath of so-called ‘cow protectors’ in Gujarat recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, yesterday, went hammer and thongs at them, saying if they want to shoot, they should shoot him, but not his Dalit brothers.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said those fakes ‘gau rakshaks’ are attempting to create friction in the society and urged the state governments to initiate strong against such fake ‘gau rakshaks’. He requested the true cow devotes to be aware so that some elements do not misuse their name.
The Prime Minister further said, “Politics of breaking the society is not good for the country and discrimination among human beings is not acceptable to us. Shanti, Ekta, Sadbhavana are central to the progress of the nation. We have to protect the marginalized and the Dalits. It is our duty.”(ANI)
