Plesant, breezy day in Delhi

New Delhi: Partly overcast and breezy conditions prevailed in the national capital today with scattered rains being recorded in some parts of the city.

Between 8.30 AM and 5.30 PM, Ayanagar observatory received 1.4 mm rainfall while traces of rainfall were recorded at Ridge and Lodhi Road observatories, a MeT Department official said.

Safdarjung, Lodhi Road, Palam, Ridge and Ayanagar observatories reported rainfall of 9.1 mm, 7.8 mm, 14.1 mm, 2.6 mm and 2.4 mm respectibely till 8.30 AM, according to the official.

The maximum temperature rose during the day to settle at 31 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season’s average while the minimum was recorded at 18.5 degrees, three notches above normal, he said.

Humidity in air oscillated between 53 per cent and 96 per cent.

The weatherman has predicted thunderstorms with rains for tomorrow.

“The skies will be partly cloudy. Thunderstorm with rains is likely to occur towards afternoon and evening.

“Mist or haze may occur in the morning. The maximum and minimum tomorrow are expected to hover at 27 and 16 degrees, respectively,” he said.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.5 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature had settled at 19 degrees Celsisus.
