The facts and figures depicting the budget allocations for various sections of society are sufficient to open the eyes of the State Govt. authorities and also to shake the entire Muslim Community. Political parties make high promises to Muslims before elections but forget all of them after assuming power.
What kind of action the Govt. takes when the time comes, could be seen by the budget allocations made for SCs, STs, BCs and Minorities. The variation can be clearly seen allocating amounts to these weaker sections.
Mr. Alauddin Ansari, Advocate, President, Minorities Development Forum and Maulana Tariq Quadri, Advocate, former member of A.P. State Minorities Commission applauded the campaign imitated by editors of Urdu Newspapers, namely Mr. Zahed Ali Khan, Mr. Khan Lateef Mohammed Khan and Mr. Syed Vicaruddin.
Maulana Tariq Quadri said that the importance of the Muslim community could be seen from the budget allocation of 12% of the population of the Muslims. For the entire Muslim Community which constitutes 12% of State population, Govt. of A.P. has allocated a budget of Rs. 300 crore whereas for 16.99% of SCs, it is Rs. 2367 crore and for 6.59% of STs, it is Rs. 1230 crore.
He told that after the despite submission of Sachar Committee Report, by seeing the budget allocation for the Muslims, it is clearly evident that Govt. refers to this report only to humiliate the Muslims.
Maulana Tariq Quadri appealed to the Imams of the mosques to make the Muslims aware of these facts so that the common Muslims could be dare enough to rise to the occasion for putting forth the legitimate demand of his share in the state budgets. There is a complaint that 20% of the allocated budget remains unspent every year.
Mr. Alauddin Ansari told that so long as we don’t make use of our democratic rights, our progress can’t be guaranteed. He requested all the secular parties to support the cease of the Muslims for enhancing the budget allocation for Minorities.
