Commissioner of GHMC Mr. Sumesh Kumar told that a comprehensive plan is being prepared to keep roads, footpaths, median dividers, bus shelters, greenery and parks in good condition. Facilities would be provided on both the sides of the roads. This plan would be prepared in a month’s time. Sanctions would be obtain for starting repair works on major roads.
The commissioner also told that for digging the roads also a plan is being prepared in consultation with water works, electricity board and BSNL. These Depts. would identify a few roads for this purpose. An action is being prepared for laying underground cables. GHMC will issue notices to all the concerned Depts. For completing the works within the stipulated time. GHMC will not issue permission letters to these Depts. for digging the roads since cement road are being laid in major area. He informed that GHMC has started the works pertaining laying the roads at 238 places with an expenditure Rs. 17 crore. He requested the house owners to complete the formalities and obtain occupancy certificates from the corporation.
