Hyderabad: A delegation of Praja Kutami (PK) leaders comprising L. Ramana and Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy from TDP, V. Hanumanth Rao and G. Niranjan from Congress, Chada Venkat Reddy from CPI, Vidhyadhar Reddy from TJS and Jandhyala Ravishankar, Advocate, met with Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar and submitted a memorandum urging him to take action against State caretaker government for resorting to electoral malpractices.
They alleged that the ruling party leaders were transporting money in 108 Emergency ambulances, media vehicles for their distribution across the State. They cited a recent incident of distribution of money in Madhira Assembly constituency from where the Mahakutami candidate Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was contesting in Friday’s elections. They sought immediate intervention by the Election Commission to prevent such illegal activities and ensure peaceful conduct of elections without any inducements to the voters.
