Piyush Jha: It’s a pistol that begins it all in SIKANDAR

Mumbai, August 07: If things would have gone as per the plans, SIKANDAR would have released in the month of March. However, the producers v/s multiplexes standoff turned the entire release calendar upside down and SIKANDAR was one of the films that did get impacted.

However, the film is now being readied for a 21st August release and director Piyush Jha is going all out to ensure that there is enough visibility around the film.

“It’s okay even if the film is arriving a few months after its intended release. As long as it gets a good release, it should be all fine because the subject is so powerful that it will find its audiences”, says Piyush.

SIKANDAR-Can Kashmir become main stream?

Ask Piyush for more details and he explains, “It’s about these two young teenagers (Parzan and Ayesha). Parzan loves to play football and one day he finds a pistol lying on the path from his way back from school. He picks it up and from that moment onwards different things start happening. It’s a pistol that begins it all in SIKANDAR. All of this leads to a chain of events that culminate into something that even Parzan’s character (Sikandar) would have never imagined.”

Piyush says that the film’s USP is it’s genre since it’s a suspense thriller.

“There is this entire suspense around why these events are happening in the life of Sikandar? Why was the pistol lying there? Why did it all spark off such proceedings? In between all this drama, there is Ayesha who is Sikandar’s conscience keeper. She is his friend, advisor and sounding board. How both of them get involved in something as unprecedented as this and ultimately reach to a point where the suspense is out makes SIKANDAR a tout watch”, details Piyush.

The film also stars Madhavan, Sanjay Suri and newcomer Arunoday Singh in principal roles.
