Belagavi: Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi is coming to Karnataka for “religious tourism”.
“I have heard he is coming for religious tourism. But I believe People of Karnataka are smart and they know everything,” said Piyush Goyal here.
Goyal’s comments come amid Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s visit to a temple at Huligi village in Karnataka today.
He added that the people of Karnataka are aware of the drama by the Congress party and will not wash away their sins.
“They are not going to be impressed by such drama. Things they have done under their state leadership, nothing can wash off their sins,” he said.
Goyal also said that he will inspect the rail tracks and will meet officials to talk about issues and development projects as well.
He is expected to visit Bijapur district next.
Karnataka is set to hold Legislative Assembly elections in the first quarter of this year. (ANI)
