Pithani Feels Separate Minister For Power Needed

Minister for Social Welfare Pithani Satyanarayana has expressed the view that it would be appropriate to have a separate Ministry for Power sector. At the same time, he added that it was not correct to say that problems arose in the power sector, as there was no separate Minister for it.

Speaking to the media here today, the Minister said that C Ramachandraiah, Minister for Endowments, addressing a letter to the Chief Minister was his personal matter.

Satyanarayana made it clear that tuition fees would be paid to all the eligible students this year. He rejected reports in a section of the media which suggested that fee reimbursement will be applicable to only one student from a family, and said there was no such at present.

ON BABU PADAYATRA

Commenting on the TDP President Chandrababu Naidu’s padayatra, the Minister said Naidu’s yatra was only to cheat the people and come to power. It was aimed at grabbing the votes by misleading the people. Naidu assuring to solve the problems of the people was a farce, as he had never raised any of the problems in the Legislative Assembly, he added. (NSS)
