Hyderabad, April 09: The HMWS&SB has made alternative arrangements to ensure water supply to the areas affected by the burst of Manjeera Transmission main leading from Khanapur to Bhojagutta Reservoir near Kokapet village.
Repair work is going on on a war-footing and is expected to be completed by Friday. The damaged pipeline supplies daily 21 MGD water to Shaikpet, Golconda, Tolichowki, Kakatiyanagar, Mehidipatnam, Karwan, Mallepally, Chintalbasthi and Vijaynagar Colony areas.
The board is diverting Krishna water to Bojagutta Reservoir besides augmenting supplies from the Shaikpet filters to make up for the shortage. Water in tankers is also being provided in affected localities from the filling stations at Red Hills, Asifnagar Filter Beds and Shaikpet Filter Beds.
