Pilgrims of Telangana & Andhra safe and sound

Telangana government has sought information about the wellbeing of Hajj pilgrims who went to the Holy Pilgrimage through Hajj Committee in the wake of fire incident occurred in Makkah Mukarrama. Chief Secretary Telangana Dr. Rajiv Sharma has directed Secretary Minority Welfare to submit report in this connection.

On Thursday morning a fire broke out on the eighth floor of a hotel building in Azizia Makkah. At least two pilgrims were injured in the fire. 1,028 Asian pilgrims were evacuated from the hotel.

Special Officer Hajj Committee Prof. S A Shukoor submitted a report to the secretary in this connection in which he stated that pilgrims of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were not staying in the building in question hence all the pilgrims of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were safe and sound. He further told that he was constantly in touch with the Hajj volunteers and officials of Hajj Mission to get acquainted with the wellbeing of pilgrims.
