Piles of cash amounting to nearly 150 million yen (about $1.25 million) were found in the mountains of southwestern Japan following the arrest of two men suspected of stealing the money from a house, a media report said Wednesday.
The cash piles were dug out by the police at a place in the mountains near Takamori town Tuesday evening, reported Xinhua.
Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing 150 million yen in cash Aug 11 from a house in Kumamoto city.
One of the suspects admitted that he had stolen the cash and transported it to the mountains by car before burying it.
