A public interest litigation was filed in the high court, pleading for a probe into reports that the PCC president and Transport Minister Botsa Satyanarayana has spent Rs. 50 crore on his daughter’s marriage.
Congress Secular Hindu Forum which filed the petition has asked the high court to order probe into how and wherefrom Botsa got so much of money. The organization has also urged the court to have reports of misuse of power in providing transport and stay facilities for the VIPs who attended the marriage. Collectors of Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, RTA, Botsa and Income Tax Commissioner were named respondents in the petition. L Ravi Kumar Reddy, convener of the organization who filed the PIL has quoted media reports about spending of Rs. 50 crore for the marriage and misuse of power. (NSS)
