PICS: Old City gets much awaited Kishanbagh Park

Hyderabad: Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) KT Rama Rao inaugurates much awaited Kishanbagh park on Wednesday. It was once a barren land covered with weeds and enveloped in a foul smell. But the four-acre space at Kishanbagh is now transformed into a park equipped with a host of recreational facilities.

The long-wait of residents here for a green lung space and a space for recreation is over with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation completing the development of the empty land into a park. In addition to the development of the park, the municipal corporation constructed cafeteria, seating gallery, a compound wall, stormwater drain across the park and completed works related to setting up of inner fencing bifurcating the walkway from the main park. All these facilities were developed with a cost of Rs 5.45 crore. The total cost of the project was Rs 6.2 crore, of which Rs 5. 45 crore was for civil works and the rest for developing greenery and provision of electrical lighting.
