Hyderabad, July 13: A pick-pocketer was nabbed by RPF personnel during a decoy check in train No. 57130 Hyderabad-Bijapur Passenger during midnight, ie, during the intervening night of July 6 to 7.
The decoy check was conducted on Seram-Chittapur-Tandur section by a team of RPF personnel belong to Seram RPF Outpost under the stewardship of Shri M.B. Rathod, Asst. Sub-Inspector (RPF). When the train arrived at Seram at the mid night ie, 00 23 hrs on July 7 one of the constables was made to act like sleeping in a general Compartment of this train while keeping folded waste paper in his secret pocket to attract the attention of pick-Pocketer. The suspect in the Coach tried to pick-Pocket the sleeping constable. Immediately, the pick-pocketer was rounded off and apprehended by the decoy check team.
On enquiry, the pick-pocketer revealed his name as Ganesh, 21, S/o Laxman Gaikwad, Solapur. The accused confessed that he use to commit theft of this kind with the modus-operandi of targeting sleeping passengers in the general Coaches of Passenger and Express Trains on Solapur-Wadi- Ranigunta section regularly for the past two years with three of his accomplices Viz., Shankar from Solapur, Nazeem and Arif from Gulbarga. He informed that he and his accomplices used to cut the secret pocket of sleeping passengers with surgical blade, share the booty and move separately till they join for committing next crime.
The accused Ganesh was handed over to RPF Sub-Inspector, Wadi who registered a case against him and further investigation is under progress.
