Photos: Shutdown in parts of Kashmir on arrival of foreign envoys’ delegation

Srinagar: Shutdown was observed in parts of Kashmir valley especially in Srinagar on the arrival of the foreign envoys’ delegation to Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. Most of the shops and business establishments were shut in the city as security was beefed up.

A delegation of 24 ambassadors to India, including those from France, European Union and arrived in Srinagar on Wednesday morning for a two-day visit to assess the ground situation in the valley after abrogation of the special status of J&K in August 2019.

The delegation will meet civil society groups, elected DDC members and will also visit places outside Srinagar and interact with students at a government college in the Magam area of central Kashmir’s Budgam.
The envoys have come from Chile, Brazil, Cuba, Bolivia, Estonia, Finland, France, Ireland, Netherlands, Portugal, EU, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Bangladesh, Malawi, Eritrea, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Malaysia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan.
