Phone addiction: Teenager allegedly set on fire by father

Palghar: Enraged over daughter’s addiction to phone, a 40-year-old father allegedly set his teenage daughter on fire at their house, said Police.

The incident is reported from Maharashtra’s Palghar district.

The 16-year-old victim suffered 70% burn injuries and is now battling for her life in Mumbai’s JJ Hospital after the incident said Police on Tuesday.

The accused was apparently furious with his daughter for being continuously hooked to her mobile phone.

The accused Mohammad Mansuri doused his teenage daughter in kerosene and set her ablaze, News18 reports.

The other family members were not present went the incident occurred.

Neighbors who heard her screams rushed her to the hospital.

Mansuri has been arrested and booked for murder under section 307 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
