BAGUIO: Nearly twenty people are reported dead and an over a dozen people injured after a passenger bus collided with a van which was heading to church for Christmas Mass in the northern Philippines on Monday.
Police Chief Superintendent Romulo Sapitula speaking of the bus collision that took place in La Union province’s Agoo town said all those killed in the collision were in the smaller van- jeepneys and another 10 passengers including the driver and 17 other passengers were also injured.
The Police said the van was carrying people for Christmas Mass to a Roman Catholic Church Our Lady of Manaoag located in the northern Pangasinan province, which is famous for Catholics and believers praying for the sick and impoverished.
The Police also added the van’s engine was ripped off due to the collision, abc reported.
