Philanthropic and humanitarian attitude of Hyderabadi Muslims exemplary: Non Muslim beggars

The philanthropic and humanitarian attitude and compassion of Hyderabadi Muslims is looked upon with much respect in the whole India. It is acknowledged in every corner of India that Muslims in Hyderabad generously donate in the month of Ramadan. Hence poor and destitute from various cities of India arrive Hyderabad during the month of Ramadan.

Our correspondent met an innocent beggar on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr who is born without both hands. The very good looking boy without hands was seeking alms in the name of Allah he was uttering ‘Allah ke naam par do’. People were generously giving alms to this innocent boy. Since he had no hands he was holding the can with his shoulders. After a while a woman came and emptied his can filled with notes and coins in her own rag. The woman told that the boy’s name is Javeed and she is his mother. But with her gestures it was perceptible that she is not a Muslim. The suspicion turned out to be true and it was found that she was infact Kammubai resident of Shahabad in Karnataka and she and the 6 year old Sadanand masquerade as Muslims to seek alms.

However Kammubai told that Hyderabadi Muslims are very compassionate and help the poor generously during the whole month of Ramadan. She moves to Hyderabad every Ramadan and thus her family collects a good sum of money.
