Hyderabad: Govt. of Telangana received a setback when Hyderabad High Court issued a stay order on G.O. Number 45 dated 22nd July 2015 for acquiring lands in Ranga Reddy, Medak and Mahboob Nagar Districts for solar energy project and other industrial ventures.
Justice M.S. Ram Chandra Rao passed stay orders on the writ petition filed by B. Venkatiah and other eight poor farmers of Karmida Village of Yacharam Mandal in Ranga Reddy District.
These farmers were given Patta lands by the Govt. The advocate of farmers, Mr. N.S. Arjun Kumar argued that officials are bent upon taking away lands from the poor farmers violating the land acquisition act of 2013. If the Govt. wants to acquire these lands, it should adopt appropriate procedure.
The honorable judge ordered that till the final decision, the possession of the farmers on their lands should continue and there should not be any interference in their activities.
It may be mentioned that Hyderabad High Court had issued stay orders for the acquisition of 483 acres of land in Meer Khanpet village of Kandukur Mandal which was acquired for green pharma city.
