PG course fees hiked in private medical colleges

Hyderabad, May 15: The government has enhanced the fee for postgraduate courses in private and minority medical colleges and fixed the fee for the PG dental course in the Army Dental College.

The medical education department issued orders to this effect today.

It enhanced the fee by Rs 25,000 for PG seats under the management quota and Rs 5,000 for seats under the convener quota. The fee for the PG course in dental science has been fixed at Rs 1.85 lakh for seats under the convener quota and Rs 3.70 lakh under the management quota.

In unaided and non-minority colleges, the fee for seats under the convener quota for clinical degree and diploma courses will be Rs 2.90 lakh, for paraclinical degree and diploma courses it will be Rs 80,000, and for non-clinical degree and diploma courses Rs 30,000.

For seats under the management quota, the fee for clinical degree and diploma courses will be Rs 5.25 lakh, for paraclinical degree and diploma courses Rs 1.70 lakh,and for non-clinical degree and diploma courses it will be Rs 60,000.

In unaided minority medical colleges all seats will be under the management quota and the fee for clinical degree and diploma seats will be Rs 4.10 lakh, for paraclinical degree and diploma courses it will be Rs 1.25 lakh and for non-clinical degree and diploma courses the fee will be Rs 45,000.

The fee for the PG seats in the Army College of Dental Sciences will be Rs 2.80 lakh.

The new fee structure will be applicable for the next three years starting with the 2010-11 academic year.
