Chengicherla: An oil tanker exploded at Chengicherla highway on Friday. The fire spread to nearby cylinders leading to a huge blaze. One persons was killed in the accident while another person was shifted to hospital for medical treatment.
Dense smoke engulfed the surrounding area, making it difficult for the firefighters to reach the spot and try to control the fire.
According to the sources, the mishap is said to have occurred when oil was being stealthily taken in the oil tanker from a petrol company.
At least a dozen fire engines were pressed into service to douse the flames.
