New Delhi: Petrol prices across the nation have been raised by 5 paise this Saturday while the Diesel prices, were slashed by 7 paise in Delhi and Kolkata.
In Mumbai and Chennai, the diesel prices have been smashed by 8 paise.
Petrol in national capital city now costs Rs 70.34 per litre, in Mumbai it costs Rs 75.96 while in Chennai and Kolkata the prices are Rs 72.99 and Rs 72.43 respectively.
Diesel process on the hand costs Rs 64.50 per litre in Delhi, Rs 67.50 in Mumbai, Rs 68.10 in Chennai and Rs 66.26 in Kolkata.
Diesel dropped to an all-time this year in the national capital this Friday and settled at 64.57 per litre.
The petrol and diesel prices depend on international prices of crude and the rupee-US dollar exchange rate since India imports almost 80% of its oil requirement.
Meanwhile, Oil prices have also dropped about 2% on Friday as the US stock market fell, while weak economic data from China pointed to lower fuel demand in the world’s biggest oil importer.
Global benchmark Brent crude futures dropped by $1.17 to settle at $60.28 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures lost $1.38 to settle at $51.20 a barrel which was a 2.62% loss from previous day value.
Since October, global oil prices have tumbled nearly 30% amid concerns over oversupply and worries on global growth, Live mint reports.
