The cost of petrol in Goa was Rs 54 per litre from today as the state government has reduced VAT from 20 per cent to 1 per cent. The Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar fulfilled one of the most popular pre-election promises in its party manifesto to reduce VAT on fuel in the state from April if his party came to power. From Midnight, the VAT on the fuel has been reduced, bringing huge relief to two, three, four wheeler vehicle owners. The Price of petrol has dropped to Rs 54 from Rs 65. Long queues of vehicles were seen at many petrol pumps in Goa to fill petrol since this morning. UNI
