Petrol dealers put off stir till Wednesday

Petrol Dealers Association president Narayana Prasad today announced that they have decided to postpone their agitation at the instance of Civil Supplies Commissioner. All the petrol bunks in both the Telugu States would work as usual on Sunday.

           

Speaking to mediapersons, Narayana Prasad said they would seek legal advice on the status-quo order given by the Civil Supplies Commissioner. Criticizing the Centre for not evincing interest in solving their long-pending demands, Narayana Prasad bemoaned that the Centre has failed fulfil its assurance to solve their 11 demands by December 31. Stating that the Centre called the petrol dealers for talks on May 17, he said they would announce their plan of action if the talks scheduled to be held on Wednesday remain deadlocked. (NSS)
