Hyderabad, December 06: The petrol bunks in twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderbad were suddenly closed in view of the sporadic incidents of stone throwing and bus damage by the agitating TRS activists and students demanding separate Telangana.
As soon as the news of fasting leader KCR shifting to ICU, a large number of students from Osmania University and TRS activists reached the Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) to see their ailing leader and tried to gate crash the hospital
which was prevented by the police.
The agitators took out a rally and resorted to damaging the buses and pelted stones on business establishments in Punjagutta and Ameerpet areas.
Sensing the trouble the petrol pumps owners suddenly closed their pumps forcing the vehicle owners moving here and there in search of petorl.
Two wheelers and autos were beelined at several petrol bunks with a hope that the pumps which supply petrol to their vehicles would reopen but there was no results and petrol bunks did not reopen.
In the meanwhile the Andhra Pradesh Road Transport Corporation has suspended 90 per cent of their fleet as the agitators damaged nearly 30 buses in various places.
The authorities also would take a decision on running their buses in view of the 48-hours bandh called by TRS from midnight tonight.
