Petlabruj Masjid is located on 909 sq.yard area in the premises of Police Transport Organization. It is 200 years old. Eid prayers are offered early in the morning which facilitates Govt. employees and police personnel to attend to their official duties after offering prayers. It is learnt that an electric substitution is proposed to be constructed right in front of the mosque which blocks the passage leading to the mosque.
Local residents and members of masjid committee contacted Mr. Zahid Ali Khan, Editor of Siasat Urdu Daily and apprised him of the details. It is reported that the local political party is interested in getting the electric substation constructed which costs Rs. 23 crore. One can understand the commission to be given to various agents. The names which are being published in the newspapers are in no-way concerned with the mosque committee. These persons have suggested an alternate passage for the mosque which is not suitable. The Masjid Committee has decided to approach the court of law. The wakf records of this mosque are entered at serial number 2427 Dated 9-2-1989 at page number 107 of wakf gazette number 6A.
