Special Investigation Team filed a petition in Nampally Criminal Court for taking Majlis Corporator Bilal into police custody. S.I.T officials filed this petition in the court of 14th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. It said that Bilal has to be interrogated in connection with the communal riots occurred in 2012 in Rain Bazaar area. The police pleaded for three days custody.
Bilal had surrendered before the court on 31st January. Court had given him in Judicial custody for 14 days since he was involved in five cases. He was shifted to Cherlapally Jail.
Court has permitted his pleader and Public Prosecutor to argue the case today. Bilal has submitted for a petition to give him special status in jail. This petition will also be heared today.
