Perspective plan for next five years: DGP

Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma has reviewed the perspective plan for the next five years with all the police officials today in his office in order to strengthen the Telangana State Police. He reviewed the State Re-organisation and formation of new districts, adaptation of Technology, Cyber Crime, Research and Development, Forensic, Maoists movement, Training, Traffic Management, Road Safety and so on.

 

The DGP said today’s meeting was a Brain-storming and the next meeting will be after Ganesh Immersion ceremony. The meeting will be held for two days by reviewing unit-wise, district-wise and hence come prepared with visionary thinking and budget requirements. He also said the Superintendents of Police must be taken into consideration as third party analysis on their functioning. They should create a third party consisting five to six persons and entrusted them to take a feedback on the police functionary in the districts.

“As DGP, I am meeting with 20 to 30 visitors every day and solving most of their problems. They are all from districts and say that their SP was not giving them time and hence visited the DGP. This is not the way of the people-friendly police towards citizens and hereafter this treatment will not be tolerated. He strictly warned the SPs.

 

Hyderabad City Commissioner of Police M. Mahender Reddy said the Telangana State police has already won several medals in the Passport verification, e-Challans, Hawk eye and so on and now the districts are adopting the Hawk eye for full proof safety and security of common people, mostly students and youth. All the 60 police stations in the twin cities will get modernized within the next five years. The police was taking enormous measures in order to reduce the crime rates. The Chain snatchers are now getting 7 years imprisonment. The motorists who are caught without Helmets are getting recorded in the command and control system. The traffic violators’ names are being noting down in police records. Action is being viewed on all those who are violating the police rules and regulations.

 

Cyderabad East Commissioner M M Bhagawat said 70 percent of cases in his jurisdiction are land related. The Cyber Security Council, She shuttles will be strengthened more for effective functioning.

Warangal Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu said some 10,000 CC cameras have been installed in different localities and colonies under his jurisdiction and the crime rate has enormously decreased compared to last few months. The installation of CC cameras on all the Highways leading towards Warangal is in progress, he said. New building for police comissionerate has to be considered, he requested the DGP.

Dr Ish Kumar, Director, Telangana State Police Academy, said the Academy was formed in the year 1986 and yet more number of proposals were pending. The modules for Intelligence Security, Traffic and Transport wings are to be developed. IGP Nagireddy has given power point presentation on the details of New districts proposed and the role of police.

All the Addl DGPs, IGPs, DIG and SP of Telangana State police attended the meeting. On the occasion, Satyanarayan, ADGP CID, who retired from service on attaining the age of superannuation today, has been felicitated by the DGP. (NSS)
