Personal sector important for economic progress: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday said the personal sector is crucial for the country’s economic progress. “For economic progress there is private and public sector, but the third and crucial one that I am attaching importance to is personal sector,” Prime Minister Modi in his address after laying the foundation stone of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana here.

“The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana would benefit people who cannot afford a house themselves. It is more than merely the construction of infrastructure; it is a way to help the poor realise their dreams,” he added.

The Prime Minister, who unveiled a plaque for the foundation stone of housing projects to be constructed under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, further said this scheme will also generate a lot of economic activity.

Describing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as a step towards fulfilment of the vision of Housing for All by 2022, he urged the public bodies across all states to take the lead in implementation of this scheme.

Prime Minister Modi also congratulated the Government of Chhattisgarh for the innovation and entrepreneurship policy, saying the countries which have laid stress on innovation in the last fifty years have benefited and experienced economic prosperity.

He further outlined the Union Government’s initiatives such as ‘Skill Development’ and ‘Mudra Yojana’.
